In some cases you will need to remove an old spring in order to measure properly for you new springs. In order to do this job safely we suggest going to Home Depot or your nearest home type hardware store and purchase a piece of round steel stock. Dimensions needed are 1/2" round solid steel about 18" long each. You will need two pieces in order to wind and unwind your torsion springs one quarter turn by alternating bars.
Please use the right dimensions for your winding bars..Don't substitute at any cost. The home stores carry 1/2" round stock in 36" lengths that can be cut in two. Cost is around $7
